What is a menstrual disc?
A menstrual disc is a circular bowl-shaped product that collects menstrual blood instead of absorbing it. It adjusts to the size of a tampon for insertion and, once in place, the disc conforms to the body to prevent leakage and provide comfort.
Made from 100% medical grade silicone, our menstrual discs do not alter the vaginal pH, respecting the intimate flora.

Benefits of using the MissVerde Menstrual Disc
What is a menstrual disc?
The menstrual disc is a circular bowl-shaped device that collects menstrual blood instead of absorbing it. It is folded and inserted into the vagina past the vaginal canal, just behind the pubic bone below the cervix. The menstrual disc is flexible and reusable.
Which size menstrual disc to choose?
At MissVerde we offer two different sizes of menstrual disc. Both sizes fit your body perfectly. However, for your comfort it is important to take into account some characteristics of your menstruation and the anatomy of your body:
If you have a light to moderate menstrual flow, the smaller size (S) would be more suitable.
If you have a moderate to heavy menstrual flow, you may feel more comfortable with the larger size (L), as it has a greater absorption capacity.
if you have a low cervix, the small size (S) will be perfect for you.
But if you have a higher cervix, the large size (L) will fit you better as it will better reach the area where the menstrual disc should be placed.
What is the vaginal fornix?
The menstrual disc is designed to sit in the vaginal fornix. The vaginal fornix is a crucial part of the female reproductive system. It refers to the upper end of the vagina, where it joins the cervix. We recommend inserting the disc downwards and backwards, pushing the rim all the way to the back of the posterior fornix (it looks like it goes all the way back, but you can't lose it!). Once the posterior part is secured, the front of the disc finds its place along the anterior aspect of the vaginal canal. The pubis acts as a retaining wall or ledge that holds the disc in place around the cervix. Thanks to your fornices (and your pubis), the disc is held in place.
Can I have sex with my menstrual disc in place?
The answer is yes. Unlike the menstrual cup, the menstrual disc sits behind the pubic bone and does not block the vaginal canal. This makes penetration possible.
Can the menstrual disc be used as a method of contraception?
The answer is no. The menstrual disc does not protect you against pregnancy.
The menstrual disc is easy to clean
You can clean your menstrual disc with our sterilising cup or with the MissVerde steam steriliser. It doesn't matter which option you choose. However, you should clean it at least every 12 hours for the duration of your period. It is also important to sterilise your menstrual disc correctly after each period. If you want to remove up to 99.9% of bacteria from your menstrual pad, we recommend the MissVerde steam steriliser.
Safe for your health
The MissVerde menstrual disc collects the flow instead of absorbing it, so it fits perfectly to the anatomy of your body without causing any leakage, respecting the vaginal flora and its pH, making it a 100% safe product for your health. No product is 100% exempt from the risk of toxic shock syndrome, including menstrual discs, although the risk is much lower. This is because menstrual cups and discs do not affect the mucous membrane. A menstrual disc does not absorb, it only collects blood.
The menstrual disc is sustainable and biodegradable
MissVerde menstrual discs are the perfect eco-friendly replacement for traditional disposable menstrual products. Our menstrual disc is a reusable container made of 100% medical silicone, which is derived from silicon. This same material is present in quartz, rocks and sand, making it totally biodegradable, vegan and natural.
